Butter Keeper

Keep your butter fresh and spreadably soft without refrigeration with this butter keeper from aaharrison ceramics. A simple design from ages past utilizes only water to create a vacuum seal that will keep your butter fresh on the counter for more than a week. The "bell" holds approximately 10 ounces of butter (1+ sticks).

How it works: pack one stick of chilled butter (not softened!) into the bell on the lid. Continue to fill until topped off. Fill the base about 1/3 full of water, then flip the lid and put into the water in the base. The water level will rise and push out the air. Without air, the butter will stay fresh (as long as you keep out crumbs!), and since it is not refrigerated it will be soft at room temperature and never tear your toast!

Made on the potter's wheel from durable stoneware. Complete piece measures 3.75 inches wide and 4 inches tall. Finished in Morning Mist white glaze. Please note, this is a stock photo and some variations may occur in size and color as they are each made one at a time.
